In the book catching fire, Haymitch is the Mentor. Haymitch is not the greatest mentor in the world though. He has a drinking problem which occasionally makes Katniss and Peeta mad... But sometimes he can give some really good advice to Katniss. Even thought Katniss is the hero in the book she isn't perfect. That is why Haymitch is there.
Haymitch in this book has stopped drinking a lot. Not nearly as much as he did in the first one I would say. Im not sure if it is a good thing for him to give advice while he is drinking...Probably not. I wonder when he does give the most useful information. Katniss would have been a very different person without Haymitch. He has given her a lot of advice that she uses. Even though sometimes she doesn't always like what he tells her. But most of the time she does it anyway or could be forced too.
