In this book there are some hidden messages. It takes place in a city underground. They first built the city because there was a nuclear war going on and they didn't want everyone to die. So therefore that is where the story takes place. There are also instructions because after 200 years they figured that, that should be enough time for the war to end... But since they didn't know who to trust they set a time lock for 200 years and passed it down from mayor to mayor. Suddenly the mayor holding the box dies and the box gets put into a closet... which is forgotten about.
Hidden Message
The current mayor basically represents a corrupt politician in a way. Lina and Doon catch him in a secret room in the Pipeworks. There he is found with resources, things people of the city need and are running out of. No one knows there is all that stuff left! In the room there is lots of food and light bulbs and other things that the city could have been using. I think that this mayor is defiantly abusing his powers as mayor. When Lina and Doon find out that this is going on they didn't let it go. They needed to make this right. For the sake of the city, for the sake of the people.
